The excitement and anticipation builds among Gen-Xers when rumors of this project surfaced. The Goonies 2 seemingly promises to be every bit as engaging as its predecessor Goonies. The sequel will bring back most of the characters from the original including the Fratelli gang. The grown-up Mikey unites Mouth, Chunk, Data and the rest of the club for another adventure involving caverns, treasures, and good ole booby traps.

The script is written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci with development taking place at Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment. Richard Donner directed The Goonies.

Notorious

The biopic Notorious looks at the life of the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. The film chronicles the struggles of the eventual rap mogul who grew up as Christopher Wallace. The film is directed by George Tillman Jr.. P. Diddy and B.I.G.’s mother Voletta Wallace will be producers of the film.

The classic 1988 Japanese anime film Akira will be adapted into a live-action feature. Akira is about a biker gang who must stop a buddy from using the superhuman powers he acquired from a government experiment. Ruairi Robinson is attached to direct the film produced by Appian Way.

G.I. J.O.E.

The Real American Heroes G.I. Joe will be turned into a live-action feature film. The toy soldiers debuted in 1964 and has since become a fixture in the American youth culture. The film will be derived from the cartoon and comics of the 1980s when they battled the terrorist organization COBRA.

Dragonball

The animated series Dragonball will be adapted into a live-action film. The action fantasy follows Goku and his friends as they battle evil forces to save Earth. Created by Akira Toryama, the Japanese hit series has been a huge worldwide sensation. Jame Wong will direct the Fox film.

Cannell and 20th Century Fox plan on creating an action-packed blockbuster.
